Located in Mid Coast Maine, we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving literacy through equine-assisted learning, art, and yoga. Our mission is to create pathways for connection, growth, and understanding.

Our Programs

UP4Reading

Horse Powered Reading (HPR) is a well researched interventional program that aids students in their literacy journey. By integrating socio-emotional learning with traditional reading skills, HPR reduces anxiety and builds confidence. Horses act as safe "friends," offering unconditional love and mental support, which creates a nurturing environment for learning.
UP4MemoryCare

UP4MemoryCare is a mobile Memory Care & Support Program designed to enhance the well-being, memory recall, and engagement of seniors through interactions with mini horses. This unique program visits care centers, nursing homes, and adult day care facilities, led by trained handlers.
Community Events

Unbridled Peace Farm is a welcoming space for learning and renewal. Check out our monthly schedule to learn when events like Barn Time, Rise & Shine Yoga, Full Moon Unwind, Family Storytime, and Barn Movie Nights.

Free Blockbuster

🎬 Take a movie, leave a movie.
Our Free Blockbuster box brings back the magic of movie nights. Neighbors, friends, and guests are welcome to borrow a DVD, drop one off, and discover new favorites. This project is part of a national grassroots effort to provide free entertainment and remind us that stories belong to everyone.

Free Little Library

📚 Take a book, leave a book.
At Unbridled Peace, we host two Little Free Libraries: LITTLE filled with children’s books and BIG filled with adult books. Neighbors, friends, and guests are welcome to browse, borrow, and share. We are part of the global Little Free Library network, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to build community, inspire readers, and expand book access for all.
This is a compliment to our UP 4 Reading program. Check for new coloring books!
Wind Phone

📞 A quiet place for reflection.

Nestled under the trees, our Wind Phone offers neighbors, friends, and guests a space to pause, reflect, and speak words left unspoken. Inspired by an international community that began in Japan, Wind Phones are now created and stewarded by friends across the United States and around the world. They offer a gentle reminder that connection, memory, and peace are always within reach.
Ours will be tucked into the tree line, giving people a soothing place away from chaos.
