Reading to Horses

Welcome to "Reading to Horses," a unique summer program where children can enhance their reading skills in an engaging and supportive environment. Hosted by the Unbridled Peace Literacy Program, Up 4 Reading, designed to foster a love for reading in young learners.

Why Reading to Horses?

Reading out loud is a proven technique to help children improve their reading fluency and comprehension. At "Reading to Horses," children get the opportunity to read to a chosen horse, creating a calming and encouraging atmosphere that boosts their confidence and enjoyment of reading.

Program Details

  • When: Every Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Eastern)

  • Where: Unbridled Peace Farm, Appleton, Maine

  • Books: We provide a selection of books, or children can bring their favorite book from home or the library

How to Participate

These are open hours, however to ensure a spot for your child, please call 216-313-8509. Our program is popular, and we want to make sure every child gets the chance to participate.

Join us for a summer of fun, learning, and horsing around with books! Help your child discover the joy of reading out loud in the serene company of our gentle horses.

There is no cost for this program.
